A meeting held on the 18th, in line with the “A Clean Country – A Beautiful Life” program—jointly implemented by the Western Provincial Council and the Western Provincial Waste Management Authority to seek sustainable solutions for waste management—was successfully conducted at the Office of the Western Provincial Governor under the leadership of Honorable Governor Hanif Yusuf and the facilitation of Mr. Chathura Kahandawaarachchi, Chairperson of the Western Provincial Waste Management Authority.

As the Western Provincial Waste Management Authority, we have identified numerous waste management activities and initiatives undertaken by government institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) within the waste management sector. While such efforts exist, there was a noticeable lack of a clear, unified vision for a sustainable and successful future. In response to this, the Chairperson of the Waste Management Authority introduced a transformative concept aimed at reshaping societal behavior toward waste management.
